The Lantern desk
The Lantern desk is the guide's own editorial team. It writes and edits Four Lights, and credit goes to the group, with no personal byline. Four Lights is an independent guide rather than a casino. Nobody can place a wager or open an account here.
The home page is the only page with paid links, and each one is marked Ad. Every one of them leads to the same private online casino site. That site is not ALC.ca, and the province neither runs nor licenses it. The guide earns a commission from it, and the partner may change over time. No money comes to the guide from venues, Atlantic Lottery, the NBLGC, the province or help services.
How the facts are checked
The Lantern desk checks each fact against the venues' own pages and official sources. Some provincial and Atlantic Lottery pages blocked automated reading when the desk went to check them. For those, it used Internet Archive copies of the same pages, captured between November 2025 and September 2026. Each fact taken from such a copy keeps its own capture date.
All hours are in Atlantic Time, and each open or closed state is worked out from the published hours. The site gives no holiday hours anywhere. Distances run in straight lines between OpenStreetMap coordinates and are never road distances or drive times. When official pages give different figures, the desk leaves that figure out. The sources are named on the page How the lights are set.
Writing to the guide
Mail for the guide goes to [email protected]. Readers write with a correction, an hour that has changed, or a question about how the guide works. That address is the guide's own and does not reach any venue or casino. To contact a venue, call its own phone line.
